Last week we finally gave the girls what they have been asking for a year now, we took them to the snow. I feel terrible because I don’t think it’s really that difficult to pack up and go to the snow, but we just couldn’t do it last year for one reason or another and as a mom I felt super guilty about it for the longest, so this year we made sure to make it a must in our to do list this winter and it was fabulous.
We decided to go to Lake Tahoe, wake them up by saying, “it’s snow day”. I’ve never seen them get up and out of bed so fast. We looked online to find snow parks, and packing for this mini trip was crazy as it always is, because I decided to do the shopping for this trip last minute it took me many hours to find affordable snow suits for the girls and of course I also had to bring a few outfits for the blog so I’m happy to share these photos with you.
Those smiles all day as they got wet, were sliding, falling, throwing snow balls at each other and just having a ball. I think this is something we’re going to have to schedule every year. The drive was horrific, now I have to tell you first that I hate driving. I wish I had a private jet, because I would take that to Tahoe, Napa and even Disneyland. I’m one of those little annoying kids that continually ask are we almost there? How much longer? I’m looking at my phone every 10 minutes to see when will we arrive. I try and take a bunch of magazines, word puzzles and a book, but nope I’m stuck on my phone and yapping my husbands ear off. I have to say my girls were better than I, but I think that’s because of the excitement of finally going to the snow, they were so good and specially Audrey she was great mostly played on her phone, but great, we didn’t have to stop once. We’re from the Bay Area so it took about 2.5 hours to get there, but the return was over 3 hours long, everyone was going home at the same time.
Over all it was the perfect snow day!
